We are pleased that such a recognizable European drugstore chain dm-drogerie markt Deutschland trusted us and chose us to cooperate in entering the Polish market. Our design office Grupa RB was responsible for the arrangement of the first stationary store in Poland.
When designing the first store of the dm chain on the Polish market in Wroclaw, we wanted to reflect the spirit of the brand itself, where the focus is on the human being. The emphasis was placed on both the comfort of the drugstore’s customers and its employees.
– In designing the interior – in line with the dm chain’s standard – we focused on both business and investment goals, as well as on fulfilling the main brand promise of creating a space that emphasizes that it is the people who matter inside the store, too. That’s why the spaces between shelves are definitely larger than what we are used to in other stores. This space gives shopping comfort and freedom of movement, especially for families with children, where maneuvering space with a stroller is very important. Add to this the special layout of the shelves, cozy, non-aggressive lighting, a place for respite in the form of a bench or a magnifying glass by the shopping carts”- emphasizes Joanna Kulak, the Grupa RB architect responsible for the design of the first dm store.
– Another example of a strong focus on people is the design of the kitchen for employees. The goal of dm and us was to create such a space that it resembles a home kitchen as much as possible, as well as a place for rest and recuperation. I am very pleased, as the owner of a design office, to see investments that not only focus on business efficiency, but also on the needs of the users” – adds Anna Brok, co-owner of Grupa RB.
The project also includes solutions for different customer groups. The store in Wroclaw is equipped with a baby changing table, a toilet adapted for the disabled, a gift-wrapping station, self-service cash registers or photo developing stations, and a water dispenser.
