At the end of November we had the opportunity to visit the National Forum of Music – a unique building, located in the heart of Wroclaw, which combines design with technology and culture into one harmonious whole. This place not only fits perfectly into the urban fabric, but is also an example of how architecture can harmonize with art and its audience.
We were given a tour of the facility by Technical Consultant at the National Forum of Music and our associate at RB Group Jacek Spakowski.

Design curiosities related to the facility:
▪️ Shape of the hall: it was designed to shape sound reflections that create a sense of spaciousness. This effect is aided by the arched forms of the walls and balconies arranged on different floors.
▪️ Individual air conditioning: ventilation ducts are designed to eliminate noise and vibration. Air is supplied through several large vents, including outlets in the seat legs.
▪️ Installations on shock absorbers: The building’s technical systems are suspended on shock absorbers, so they do not transmit vibrations to the structure. This innovative approach minimizes acoustic interference.
▪️ Movable walls and ceilings: A machine room was designed above the main concert hall to house, among other things, equipment for lowering or raising ceiling panels.
▪️ Historic bastion wall: The site of the excavation was the former bastion wall of Wroclaw. A section of it has been reconstructed in the tunnel, where it can be admired both from a car and on foot
As a Grupa RB, we are constantly improving our skills, combining experience, knowledge gained at trainings with its practical application in projects. Visits to inspiring places, such as the National Forum of Music, are an integral part of our profession. They allow us to observe how the applied design solutions work in practice and affect the users of the space – both in terms of aesthetics and functionality. Such experiences allow us to look at projects from a completely new perspective, enriching our workshop and inspiring further development.
